Announcement from Ladd will polarize two fan bases.
A surprise announcement from Ladd is going to leave some fans very unhappy.

This announcement is going to have two different fan bases reacting in two very different ways.
When the Winnipeg Jets traded their captain, forward Andrew Ladd this past season, it was amid rumors that the team just wasn't prepared to accommodate Ladd's high priced salary demands, and it left many fans in Winnipeg feeling a little down on Ladd. As we know now, Ladd would go on to join the Blackhawks who were subsequently eliminated in the first round.
After that first round exit, Ladd is now saying that he wants to stay with the Blackhawks, and unlike with Winnipeg it sounds like Shaw is willing to take a pay cut to do so.
"I'm at the point in my career where I can make decisions based on being in a good situation and at the end of the day, I don't think it's all about money for me," Ladd, said as per Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune.
This is a much different tone that any of the reports that came out of the negotiations in Winnipeg, and while this will certainly make fans in Chicago happy, it's unlikely to have the same impact on the Jets fan base. With that said Ladd made it clear this was a motivation by the way he felt about the Blackhawks organization, and their ability to compete for championships at this stage of his career.
"I'm at the point in my career where I can make decisions based on being in a good situation and at the end of the day, I don't think it's all about money for me," Ladd, said.
Probably still won't go over well in Winnipeg.
