Breaking: GM puts player on the trading block after off-ice scandal.

The humiliation of Greg Pateryn continues.

The Montreal Canadiens defenseman was probably shocked to find out his wife had gone off on a twitter tirade over the week-end and now, whether he was aware of her behavior or not he is suffering the consequences.

A report from TSN insider Frank Seravalli has revealed that Habs general Marc Bergevin has sent out a message to all teams in the National Hockey League to advise them that he is making Pateryn available for a trade.

Pateryn's wife made bigoted comments about both former Habs head coach Michel Therrien as well as current Habs head coach Claude Julien and also appeared to endorse messages suggesting her husband demand a trade from the team after he was once again made a healthy scratch.

Pateryn is in the line up tonight against the Rangers, likely in an effort to showcase his skills.
