Breaking: NHL captain expected to be stripped of his captaincy.
NHL Captain will no longer wear the C.
HockeyFeed
There has been no official report, but it sounds like one National Hockey League captain is about to lose his captaincy.
According to a report from TSN's Frank Seravalli the Los Angeles Kings have informed veteran Dustin Brown that he will no longer wear the "C" for his club, the motivation behind the decision is unclear at this time. Speculation would lead one to believe that a disappointing playoff performance may have played a role but the Kings have simply told Brown that they "want to go in a different direction with the 'C'"
There has been no word yet on who could be named the Kings next captain, but after signing a major deal recently a player like Anze Kopitar could potentially be the man who gets the job. We will continue to track this story as it develops.
