It was a tough night on Thursday for the Dallas Stars who not only lost 2-1 to the Boston Bruins on their season opener, but also lost three players to injury in the game’s first 30 minutes.

The scariest injury came when defenseman Roman Polak brutally slammed into the boards in the second period.

Polak was chasing Bruins forward Chris Wagner into the corner and simply took an awkward fall into the boards while attempting to stop. He was taken off the ice on a stretcher and did not move while he laid face-down on the ice.

Fans are now getting outraged by the response to the play from the commentators on NESN’s Bruins broadcast.

“That looked self-induced, didn’t it?,” NESN’s Bruins color analyst Andy Brickley said immediately after the collision.
“Has a little bit of bad hockey karma,” NESN’s Bruins play-by-play announcer Jack Edwards responded.

This is inappropriate and unaccepted. Polak could be seriously injured. When a man is down and taken out on a stretcher, you better shut up, Jack…
