In what was a tightly contested game, Charlie Coyle decided the Wild needed an insurance goal.
He took a pass from Nino Niederreiter just outside the red line then went in 1 on 1 against Canadiens defenceman Nathan Beaulieu. He protected the puck then made a nice move to get under Beaulieu's stick before he snipped it top shelf blocker side on Mike Condon. It was a great individual effort that was finished with a nice move and a sweet snipe. It made the game 2-0 and ended up being the game winner.
The Wild had two potential goals called back. The first goal seemed over but there wasn't enough evidence and the second seemed to still be a bit on the goal line. Thankfully those potential goal ended up not effecting the outcome for the Wild and they head into their Christmas break with a 2-1 win over the Habs.
