David Clarkson's career has hit an all-time low point.
This may go down as the worst contract in NHL history.

The David Clarkson saga has taken yet another ugly turn.
According to a report from the Columbus Blue Jackets' Rob Mixer Clarkson will not be starting training camp with his teammates in preparation for the 2016-2017 season. Mixer is reporting that Clarkson has failed a physical and it's unclear what his status is now going forward.
It's the latest disappointment in Clarkson's career, a career that has been filled with nothing but disappointment since he signed his massive $36,750,000 deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs, a deal designed in such a way that makes a buyout impossible and a trade extremely unlikely. So bad in fact that it prompted the Maple Leafs to trade him for a player who's National Hockey League career was clearly over in Nathan Horton.

To make matters worse for the Columbus Blue Jackets Clarkson's contract isn't anywhere near being close to over, with four more years left on the deal at a massive cap hit of $5,250,000 , this for a player who hasn't managed more than 6 points over an entire season since playing for the Devils in the 2012-2013 season.
More to come.
