Hours, if not minutes after head coach Jeff Blashill said the young forward Dylan Larkin was likely to miss tonight's game in Minnesota, the top scoring rookie in the NHL has been cleared by doctors.
Larkin, 19 years-old, was cleared by doctors after the Wing's morning skate.
He told members of the media, yesterday that he wasn't sure if he could play, despite his strong desire to get back into the Wings' lineup. Team doctors cleared him in time, and Larkin will take part in tonight's game, giving a huge boost to Detroit.
Larkin missed Detroit's last game against the Nashville Predators with an upper-body injury. Coach Blashill confirmed this morning that Larkin's injury was not head related and the he wasn't part of the NHL's concussion protocol.
