Jets make a major shift in goal on Tuesday.

The Winnipeg Jets have been unable to find consistent goaltending throughout the 2016-2017 National Hockey League season and now they are pulling out all the stops to try and find a solution.

TSN senior reporter Frank Seravalli has reported that the Winnipeg Jets have called up former Atlanta Thrasher's second round draft pick, and much maligned Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec.

Pavelec appeared in 33 games for the Jets last season but has spent the entirety of this current season in the American Hockey League with Jets affiliate the Manitoba Moose. Over 18 appearances for the Moose Pavelec has been average, posting a .917 save percentage and a 2.78 goals against average, so expectations here aren't very high.

Nonetheless it's become clear that something had to change with both Connor Hellebuyck and Michael Hutchinson under-performing in the Winnipeg net.
