NHL players vote on the dirtiest player in the National Hockey League.

Fans and pundits will have their theories on which player takes more liberties, or which player is particularly cheap, but at the end of the day the guys who are out on the ice night in and night out know best.

The National Post, a Canadian newspaper, surveyed players on both sides of the border and asked them the tough questions, all while allowing the players to remain anonymous. One of the questions asked was which NHL player is the dirtiest in the game, and here are the results.

To give you a point of comparrisson, the top 5 dirty players among fans were, in order, Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand, Toronto Maple Leafs forward Raffi Torres, Los Angeles Kings forward Milan Lucic, free agent forward Matt Cooke who hasn't even played this year, and Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas.

As you can see the fans and players had some very different ideas.
