According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, The Buffalo Sabres would be getting calls for their centerman Zemgus Girgensons.
Girgensons played less than 10 minutes in 6 of his last 7 games and it would attract a few teams. "I think they are getting calls, like hey, are you no longer interested in this player" said Friedman. "I think what Buffalo is telling teams is : we're not selling low".
Born in Riga, Latvia, Girgensons never lived up to the expectation of a Top15 draft picks. Selected 14th overall in 2012, his best season was 2 years ago when he scored 15 goals and added 15 assists for 30 points. Last year he only tallied 18 points in 71 games.
So far this year, the Sabres' forward has 2 goals and 3 helpers in 27 games.
