Rumor: Reports of offers on both sides of Bruins/Marchand negotiations.
Keystone Press.

While there a certainly a number of issues on the minds of Boston Bruins fans, first and foremost among those is likely the future of forward Brad Marchand.

There is little doubt that Marchand will sign a massive extension with the Bruins at some point this season, the question is more along the lines of how much and for how long? Well we may now have a rough picture of what that looks like.

A report from NBC's Mike Halford has recently revealed that Marchand's camp is looking for a deal very similar to the one former teammate Milan Lucic signed this summer, a 7 year deal worth a whopping $7 million annually. It's a big asking price, but Marchand has not only been incredibly valuable for the Bruins, but is coming off arguably the best season of his entire career.

While there have been no official reports regarding the offer the Bruins are prepared to make, we have heard that their initial offer is expected to have an average annual value of somewhere around the $6.3 million mark, although how much term they will offer is unclear.

That's not to say the two sides are far apart, there is plenty of time left to go here and these are likely just preliminary offers from both sides.
