It's been a big time redemption season for veteran forward Thomas Vanek, and during this season he has become what is arguably the Detroit Red Wings most effective player.

Vanek however is now the subject of rampant trade speculation as many pundits have predicted that the Red Wings will miss the playoffs for the first time in a long time this season, and while Vanek says he doesn't want to be traded, he acknowledges that the choice won't be his.

"Obviously, I understand the business side of it," Vanek said as per the Associated Press.

A veteran with 30 points in just 33 games, and one who's contract runs out at the end of the season, will be an extremely hot comodity at the trade deadline, and if the Red Wings look like they will be out of it expect Vanek to be playing for another team come March.
