Unheralded Hurricanes rookie steals rookie of the week honors.

With all the talk this season around an elite group of rookies, one youngster has just shown the hockey world that his name deserves to be discussed as well.

If you haven't heard of 22-year-old Brock McGinn don't feel bad, he had an abnormally productive week and he did so on arguably the most obscure team in the National Hockey League, the Carolina Hurricanes.

McGinn led all rookies over the last seven days with four goals and 3 assists over that stretch, good for 7 of his 12 points this season, all of them coming in just his last four games.

It's unclear if this is a coming out party for a rookie who has finally found his stride, or if this was a one-off for the former second round draft pick in 2012, but here's a look at the damage he did this week.
