23 year old defenseman earns big six year deal.

The Arizona Coyotes have a new general manager and he's already making his mark on the team.

On Thursday the Coyotes announced that they had agreed to terms on a monster six year deal with 23 year old defenseman Connor Murphy, securing his services for the long term, a move that makes perfect sense given how young their team is currently.

While the Coyotes did not reveal the terms of the deal, according to Coyotes insider Craig Morgan of Arizona Sports, the deal is worth reportedly $19.25 million for an average annual value of $3.85 million.

The Coyotes buy a number of unrestricted years on this deal, and have clearly projected Murphy will be part of their core in the coming years.
