Former Washington Capitals third-rounder Stanislav Galiev will be playing with Ak Bars Kazan in the Kontinental Hockey League next year, as he signed a two-year deal with the team.

The KHL confirmed the news today on its Twitter account:

A left-winger, Galiev amassed 40 points in 56 games last year in the AHL with the Caps affiliated team, the Hershey Bears.

Drafted 86th overall in the 2010 NHL draft, the Moscow native played his juniors years in the Quebec Junior Major Hockey League with the Saint John Sea Dogs. He was never able to secure a regular spot on the Capitals roster, playing only 24 games between the 2014-16 season in which he only collected 4 points.
