Remember yesterday when the Toronto Maple Leafs veteran forward Brooks Laich asked publicly that the Leafs trade him to a contending team and said this:

“My focus is still in this organization and playing for the Maple Leafs,” said Laich as per Joshua Kloke of the Athletic. “The decision is up to them, but if they don’t see me in their plans going forward towards the playoffs then I would like the opportunity to chase a Stanley Cup with another organization.”

Well, things escalated quickly in this case…

As reported by Bob McKenzie, the 33-year-old veteran Brooks Laich will be headed to the waiver wire today.
