650 NHL-game veteran to ask for trade after demotion!

The shake-up has started in Buffalo, where Sabres general manager Jason Botterill began making moves last week, by placing high-priced veteran Matt Moulson on waivers for the purpose of being demoted to the minors.

Moulson’s demotion has affected the team in the midst of a slump that’s dropped the Sabres into last place in the overall standings. The Sabres decided to waive Moulson at noon Monday after watching him fail to produce a point in 14 games and get scratched in 13 others. Though not surprising, teammate Kyle Okposo was hit hard by the club's decision. 

"We've got to win some games," Okposo said to the Buffalo News. "That's what happens in the business. If you don't win games, if you don't have results, good people pay the price for it."

Now Moulson is definitely looking at other options. It has been reported, though Botterill isn't quite sure what he's got planned, that the forward and his agent are seeking a trade. 

It is even hinted that Moulson could potentially land with the Vegas Golden Knights since there is a close connection between the veteran and the GM George McPhee.
