A lot of scouts show up after trade rumors.

Earlier this week we reported on the rumors that surrounded Montreal goaltender Mike Condon, and the belief that the Canadiens were looking to trade him, and now we may have more details on that potential deal.

While it's only conjecture and therefore speculative, Habs Links has reported that a large number of scouts, specifically from the San Jose Sharks organization have been sighted during Montreal's preseason games, leading to speculation that they may be among the teams interested in Condon.

When Sportsnet's Eric Engels initially reported the rumor he described the interested parties as "a couple of Western teams" and San Jose would certainly fit that description. The Sharks also lost backup goaltender James Reimer to free agency this summer, so that would be one more factor that would seem to point to them as a likely candidate in this trade.

It's still entirely unclear what Montreal is seeking in exchange for Condon, and while he is just a back up his very low cap hit of $575,000 makes it unlikely that the Canadiens will be willing to give him up for nothing.

More to come.
