A minor deal is made at the last possible moment.

As the NHL Trade Deadline comes to a close, deals have have begun to trickle in after the 3PM cut-off.

According to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun, the Ottawa Senators have sent forward Shane Prince and 7th-round draft pick in 2016 to the New York Islanders for a 3rd-round draft pick in 2016.

The 23-year old prospect needed to be moved by Ottawa, as Prince was considering serious offer from KHL if not traded at the deadline. In 44 NHL appearances, Prince has recorded 3 goals and 10 assists for 13 points. The Senators drafted Prince in the 2nd round of the 2011 Draft.

The Islanders were expected to be major players at the deadline, but this deal wound up being their only transaction on Feb 29.

Maybe Prince will shine in his new home after forcing the Sens' hand.
