At this point, it seems like a foregone conclusion that star goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky will NOT be returning to the Columbus Blue Jackets for 2019-20 and beyond. The pending unrestricted free agent has yet to officially close the door on negotiations with his former team, but his actions this week indicate that he’s all but done in Columbus.

Bobrovsky reportedly met with the Florida Panthers earlier this week and he appears to be on the move yet again. According to his own Instagram account, Bobrovsky is flying from Miami to New York today, leading to speculation that he may be meeting with at least one of the New York Metropolitan teams: the New York Rangers, New York Islanders or New Jersey Devils.

For what it’s worth, the Rangers seem like an unlikely destination as they have Henrik Lundqvist and Alexandar Georgiev under contract. The Islanders have Thomas Greiss under contract and are negotiating with pending unrestricted free agent Robin Lehner. The Devils, however, seem like a perfect destination despite having Cory Schneider locked up long-term to a $6 million deal. The Devils have loaded up this offseason and are clearly looking to make a splash this offseason.
