A Penguin's season has likely come to an unfortunate end.

The Pittsburgh Penguins got some bad new on the injury front, as it appears more than likely one of their forwards will be recovering from an injury for the rest of the season.

Penguins forward Kevin Porter underwent surgery on his ankle on Friday and is expected to be out of the lineup for 12 weeks.

Porter sustained the injury early in Thursday's 4-1 win over the New York Rangers.

29-year-old has recorded three assists in 41 games this season.
