National Hockey League experts and fans cannot deny it: the Edmonton Oilers are far from having the 2017-18 season start everyone expected, especially after an exciting playoff run last spring.

Now, the Oilers have a 8-13-2 record and sit 29th in the league. Not what fans expected with superstar player Connor McDavid on board. TSN insiders were asked during the Quiz on Friday night if head coach Todd McLellan's job was in jeopardy, but Bob McKenzie believes the pressure is on GM Peter Chiarelli

"The pressure is on the players to perform, and if that's not the case I believe there is more pressure on general manager Peter Chiarelli to make a player move before anybody contemplates making a coaching move in Edmonton."

Trade chatter has been heard loud and clear from the Oilers, as young forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is said to be on the block. Pressure is now on more than ever, especially after last night's 3-1 loss to the struggling Buffalo Sabres.
