Jordin Tootoo's story is one of tragedy, courage and redemption. Much of it was written in his autobiography ALL THE WAY: My life on the ice. However, a magic moment happened for him this weekend.

Tootoo missed 16 of the last 20 games as a healthy scratch, enough for a lot of players to get discouraged. However, after battling alcoholism and many other issues, Jordin has a different perspective on life. He says ''"I've learned to just be a good teammate in the dressing room and just prepare yourself to be ready to play when you're called upon. For me it's a privilege to be in this league, and there's thousands of guys that want to be in this position.''

He proved his point Saturday night.

It all started with a courageous bout against the not-so-gentle giant Cody McLeod

Then Tootoo scored in the second to give the Hawks a comfortable lead against his former team, the Nashville Predators.

The best part is his teammates reaction after the goal. Even if Tootoo only scored his first of the season, everyone in the team looks genuinely pumped about it.

His contribution in the Hawks entourage is different from what people expect of a hockey player. He's not there to score goals, he wears the jersey to inspire and spark a fire in the team. Apparently, it worked on Saturday and it might in the playoffs. The Hawks do things differently.

The guy is truly nice. Have a look at this memory back from 2014. That kid was stoked!

Jordin, keep up the good work, it's fun to watch.
