After being called “AN IDIOT”, Jay Beagle hits Phil Kessel back in the funniest way ever.

When asked about Jay Beagle’s reaction on Niskanen’s hit on Crosby, Phil Kessel responded to the Washington Capitals forward: “If he thinks that’s a clean hit, he’s an idiot" in front of the media this morning following the short practice.

Fact is Beagel's quote was taken out of context. He was not talking about Niskanen's hit but physical play in general during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The complete quote was: "“It should be nasty. It’s the playoffs. That’s the way we like to play. That’s the way they like to play – you know, hard hits, going after each other. These are two teams that don’t like each other.”"

Soon after Jay Beagel answered to Phil Kessel calling him "an idiot" in the funniest way ever.

“Ouch. That hurts. That’s not very nice,” Beagle deadpanned. “Obviously, it wasn’t a clean hit, but I do think the playoffs are nasty and that’s why we love them, right? … It hurts. I’m hurt deeply. If he wants to settle it, we could always play some Mario Kart. He knows where to find me. We’ll take it there.”
