Ask any old school hockey fan and they’ll tell you tales of how much tougher the NHL used to be back in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Back in the day of enforcers and on ice justice, back when Dave Schultz, Tiger Williams, Dave Semenko, Bob Probert, Tie Domi and dozens of others policed the game with their bare knuckles.

These days we see still see the odd fight or two… but nothing compares to a good old fashioned hockey scrap. When was the last time you saw a tilt like this?

It simply doesn’t happen anymore… the league has changed forever, for better or worse. That makes scraps like the one we saw in the AHL on Sunday evening even more impressive.

Gotta love the bro pat at the end, this is a move that you only see from true enforcers. You go toe to toe for well over a minute, spill some blood and then show some props to your opponent. This is what old school hockey is all about.
