Albert “junior” Langlois, 3 time Stanley Cup champion, has died.

The Montreal Canadiens announced some sad news over the weekend after one of their alumni passed away.

We are sad to report that Joseph albert Olivier Langlois, often referred to by his nickname of "junior," has passed away at the age of 85 years old. We take great solace in the fact that Langlois lived a long and full life, one that was filled with the kind of amazing accomplishments that some of us can only dream of.

Langlois rose up the ranks of the QHL and the AHL in the late 50s before eventually joining the Montreal Canadiens, a team that he would capture the Stanley Cup with 3 times in 1958, 1959 and 1960. Although he will be best remembered for his time as a member of the Canadiens he also made stops in New York where he played in 3 seasons for the Rangers, in Detroit where he played 2 seasons with the Red Wings, and in Boston where he played out the final season of his NHL career. Langlois did extend his career in the WHL after that, playing 2 more seasons before eventually retiring from professional hockey.

In the NHL he had career totals of 497 games played, 21 goals and 91 assists for a combined total of 112 points and he had 488 penalty minutes to his name.

Our condolences go out to the Langlois family, his friends, and everyone who loved him.
