If you're a Hawks fan and haven't heard about Alex DeBrincat by now, you seriously need to up your game a notch. The 19 years old basically destroyed the highly competitive OHL this year, earning 127 points in 63 games. He added a further 31 points in 18 playoffs game for the Erie Otters. The team is currently in the final leg of the league's Playoffs and expected to win the coveted equivalent to the Stanley Cup.

To top off such an amazing year, DeBrincat had to receive some kind of award. That's exactly what happened today when he was crowned Player of the Year.

To better understand, the OHL is considered to be the most competitive junior league in North America, if not the whole world. DeBrincat, who was drafted only 39th overall in 2016, has rapidly became the hottest commodity in the junior rank.

The Hawks will need every ounce of his raw talent to bounce back from a tough year. DeBrincat is expected to have a shot at cracking the lineup and maybe become a starter as rapidly as next year.

Well done Alex!
