After having a breakout season which saw him score 30 goals and ensuring himself of the #1 center role for the Montreal Canadiens, Alex Galchenyuk is not shying away from speaking up.
He told NHL.com that he believes his new teammate Shea Weber is the toughest defenseman to play against in the entire league:
“I remember last year Weber hit me close to the boards and I couldn’t feel my legs for like three days.”
Fresh off a tumultuous season which saw the Habs finish 22nd overall, Galchenyuk added:
“You want to win… and to be honest personally I’ve never been this excited before a year… as is everyone on the team. It’s always exciting to come back and know that there’s something to prove.”
