Alex Ovechkin and Nikita Kucherov tied for goals scored so far!

Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin and Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov are currently tied for goals scored in the NHL, with 27 each. Kucherov has 59 points in 42 games played so far, while Ovechkin has 45 points in 42 games. 

Drafted 58th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2011, Kucherov played 327 games so far in the NHL, scoring 135 goals and adding 158 assists for a total of 293 points. The 24-year old forward added 42 points in 45 playoff games. The Lightning are currently first in the Atlantic division with a record of 30-9-3.


Drafted first overall by the Capitals in 2004, Ovechkin has 585 goals and 495 assists for 1,080 points in 963 games played in the NHL. The Russian forward added 90 points in 97 playoff games. The Capitals are currently first in the Metropolitan division with a record of 26-13-3.

Sean Couturier, 25, was drafted eight overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2011. He has 23 goals and 19 assists for 42 points in 42 games played so far this season. He is currently fourth in the goal-scoring race. In 458 games played so far in the NHL, he scored 93 goals and added 140 assists for a total of 233 points. He added four points in 19 playoff games. 


William Karlsson, 25, was drafted 53rd overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2011. He played 224 games in the NHL with the Ducks, the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Vegas Golden Knights, scoring 40 goals and adding 46 assists for 86 points. He added three points in five playoff games. The Golden Knights claimed him from the Blue Jackets in the expansion draft. He has 22 goals this season, good for the seventh position in the goal-scoring race. 

Brock Boeser, 20, was drafted 23rd overall by the Vancouver Canucks in 2015. He played 48 games in the NHL so far, scoring 26 goals and adding 19 assists for 45 points. This season, the Burnsville, Minnesota native has 22 goals, good for a tie with Philadelphia Flyers forward Sean Couturier at the sixth position in the goal-scoring race.
