Everybody has been talking about how great Alex Ovechkin has been doing on the ice since the start of the 2017-18 season. And even though the Washington Capitals' captain is definitely one of the biggest star in the NHL, he doesn't forget how important it is to give back.
According to a report from Sportsnet, Ovi apparently decided to gift "some warm clothes to a homeless man weathering the Edmonton cold," on Friday.
While reporters asked him a few questions about the interaction today, it looked like he didn't really want to talk about it:
"I saw the guy with no shirt, so I just went to a store, and (bought) him a sweater, coat, and hat. If you see a guy almost naked out there with that kind of temperature, I think every human can do something, you know?"
Well done, Ovi!
The 32-year-old winger recorded 10 goals in just as many games this season, as well as two assists, four penalty minutes and a +/- ratio of -3.
