Anders Nilsson hopes to raise awareness with this great gesture!

Anders Nilsson, a back-up goaltender to Robin Lehner in Buffalo this year, is posting amazing numbers so far; a 4-2-2 record and a .934 save percentage - but he's making headlines for a much more important reason. He's wearing the pride flag on the back of his helmet to support the LGBT community.

The 26 year-old goaltender said witnessing the struggle of his gay friends was the catalyst behind his decision.

"Life hasn't been easy for them growing up. It's time that hockey starts to pay some attention to that." Nilsson said. "This summer, I thought, why not be the first goalie to put (the pride flag) on the helmet and raise some awareness?".
