Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs dropped a 6-1 decision to the Philadelphia Flyers and they looked awful throughout the entire game.

That’s why everyone on the roster wants to make it up and go hard after the visiting Colorado Avalanche tonight.

Even star goalie Frederik Andersen.

According to TSN’s Kristen Shilton who spoke with head coach Sheldon Keefe ahead of the game, it was Andersen himself who demanded to be back in net tonight against the Avalanche.

“He came to us after the game yesterday and he wants to be in the fight with the guys today, didn’t like how yesterday went. We’ve challenged our group here to respond.

“Sometimes circumstances will come up where the fight of a player will dictate what you’re going to do and you go against what your gut instinct tells you that you should do, and that’s what we’re doing here today.”

Keefe admitted that he first denied Andersen’s request but couldn’t keep it up seeing how adamant his goalie was about starting tonight.

His teammates see this as a great sign of leadership.

“Freddie’s a man. The boys love him and he’s been an unbelievable goaltender for us this year. We want to do right by him in front of him and I think you’ll see that tonight,” said Tyson Barrie.

Andersen will be playing both games in a back-to-back for the first time this season.

We will see how good it will be for the Leafs…
