Another analytics expert fired off the heels of a bad trade.

By now it's been made relatively clear that the motivation behind the Canadiens decision to get rid of analytics expert Matt Pfeffer was motivated by his impassioned plea not to trade defenseman P.K. Subban, and that has led many to speculate that the motivation behind this most recent decision has a similar source.

According to a report from Sportsnet's Mark Spector the Edmonton Oilers have terminated analytics expert Tyler Dellow and although there are no rumors of an impassioned speech behind the scenes, one has to imagine that as a man with a focus on analytics, he was not in favor of the Taylor Hall for Adam Larsson trade.

While many have questioned Hall's potential he has always been a favorite of the analytics community with solid numbers despite playing for what was at times a terrible team. It's important to note here that this is merely speculation at this time, but the coincidence is not one that is going to be overlooked.
