The Pittsburgh Penguins have been decimated by injuries and that's quite a statement to make after so few games in the regular season.

With several of their very best players already out with injuries including goaltender Matt Murray, forward and captain Sidney Crosby, and defenseman Kris Letang, the Penguins were forced to announce yet another injury, and again it's to a quality player.

This time the injury is to defenseman Derrick Pouliot and the comments from general manager Jim Rutherford would appear to indicate he will be out for the long-term.

"It's going to be a while," Jim Rutherford said via DK Pittsburgh Sports. "I don't know if they've put an actual projection on it as we speak but it's going to be a while."

It's a very rough start for the Penguins.
