We already saw Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf get traded this season, there are major rumors that Winnipeg Jets captain Andrew Ladd could be dealt, and now there's one more rumor surrounding an NHL captain.

After losing to both the Buffalo Sabres and the Arizona Coyotes, two of the weaker teams in the National Hockey League, it sounds like Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin has accepted his team's fate and will look to sell before the deadline. This wasn't mentioned but one has to imagine the recent report from La Presse that stated Carey Price is extremely unlikely to return this season may also be playing a factor.

There's now talk that Montreal captain Max Pacioretty, arguably the team's most offensively gifted player could be on the trading block, and according to comments made by TSN insider Darren Dreger on TSN Radio this morning, at least 10 NHL franchises would be interested.

If Montreal were to deal such a huge piece of their organization it would be interesting to see how they move forward next season.
