Another Leaf rookie scores his first career goal!

Scoring your first career NHL goal for your hometown team is something special. Tonight, Zach Hyman did just that. He scored his first NHL goal in his 5th game with the Leafs. He was also able to do it at home at the ACC.

Hyman is just another Leaf rookie who has scored their first career goal. With so many rookies getting a look with the season winding down, it was almost expected but to see so many of them score after just a handful of games, its quite impressive. It was a feel good moment seeing Hyman score his first. You could see how happy the born and raised kid from Toronto was when he did it. He had a smile ear to ear.

Let's face it, this has been a brutal season for the Leafs, but in fairness, the Leafs management team let us know there will be tough times ahead. So seeing some of the Leafs future pop in their first career goals and play some solid minutes, it gives us fans hope. Getting some experience under their belts is always good. They will also have a chance to win a Calder cup with the Marlies as well.
