Another shady move by the Carolina Hurricanes!

The team was recently named the “least valuable team” in the NHL by Forbes.

It’s going to be harder to get a grasp on the Carolina Hurricanes’ annual finances.

Gale Force Sports & Entertainment will no longer report to the Centennial Authority, the PNC Arena landlord -- the amount they received  from the NHL and from their local television contract.

"It was a very inaccurate report because not everything is reported in it, so we just said … let’s go back to what’s required by our lease agreement with the Centennial Authority,” Don Waddell, GFS&E president, said

This announcement comes just a few days after Forbes announced their NHL Franchise valuations in which they ranked the Carolina Hurricanes as "the least valuable" team in the NHL. Forbes valued Peter Kamanos' team at $230 million and its revenues at $99 million.

Asked if these numbers were accurate, Waddell had this to say:“No, where do they get this stuff? We don’t know where they get these numbers.” stating their revenues were up the $100 million.

While this move is pretty usual, it only adds fuel to the fire at a precarious time for the Hurricanes.
