Another tough break for the Detroit Red Wings.

The Detroit Red Wings have been dealt another blow as injuries continue to take a toll, specifically the injury plaguing veteran defenseman Niklas Kronwall.

There was some hope that the All-Star break would provide Kronwall somew much needed recovery time, but on Monday the team placed him on long-term injured reserve, meaning that he will miss at a minimum 10 more games as a result of his knee injury.

Kronwall was a -10 on the season, hardly a sign of the veteran's usual consistency on the ice, and now he will not be eligible to return before the Wings Feb 14th match up against the Boston Bruins, not giving him much time to bounce back this season.

Hopefully the additional rest that comes with the time off will allow him to recharge his batteries.
