The Toronto Maple Leafs boast one of the most impressive groups of young talent in the entire National Hockey League, and there's still more talent in their system waiting to bubble to the surface.

Notable among those names is that of Kaspari Kapanen who despite being a first round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft, has yet to find a full time spot as a member of a NHL roster. Kapanen is impressing however, and the young forward who was acquired from the Penguins in the Phil Kessel trade has been now been named the American Hockey League's player of the week after an impressive 5 point performance in the first two games of the season for the Toronto Marlies.

With a stacked group of young forwards Kapanen has a tough road ahead if he wants to crack the Leafs top six, but at the very least his presence gives the Leafs a great deal of flexibility moving forward, and could even be the reason some of the Leafs forwards have been the subject of trade rumors as of late.
