The Toronto Maple Leafs got back on track on Tuesday night, picking up a crucial 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lighting Lightning to snap an ugly three-game slide.

Star player Auston Matthews, who scored his 47th goal of the season early in the third period, wanted to celebrate the victory with his goalie Frederik Andersen, who finished the game with 32 saves, and decided to try something different.

As the forward skated towards his netminder, the two men bowed at one another.

After the game when asked about the new celebration, Matthews explained to TSN's Mark Masters that it was all because of the coronavirus outbreak…

“It’s just because of the whole coronavirus thing. We decided we’d try something different.”

Hard to tell with the ongoing fears of the disease if Matthews was joking, but we will have to see if they keep doing it in the upcoming games…
