Babcock calls out his young stars after tough loss to Arizona.

The Toronto Maple Leafs suffered a tough loss to the Arizona Coyotes on Monday night, and after the game head coach Mike Babcock wasn't shy about laying blame at the feet of his players.

While the Leafs' coach didn't name any names in particular, he called out his entire group of young players for what he clearly feels was a poor performance against arguably the worst team in the entire National Hockey League.

"A lot of the guys that are driving us, the young skill guys, not today – they weren’t here today," said Babcock.

While some of Toronto's young players including superstar forward Auston Matthews echoed some of Babcock's comments following the game, fans will likely be more forgiving given that many fans in Toronto feel the NHL officials played a large role in the outcome of the game.

The officials overturned a Matthews goal late in the third, and that was quickly followed by a non-call after goaltender Frederik Andersen was knocked down behind his net by a Coyotes player.
