The clock is ticking…

The Toronto Maple Leafs are hoping to rewrite history as they face for the second year in a row the Boston Bruins in a Game 7 to see which team moves on to the second round of the postseason.

The Maple Leafs are looking for a different outcome than last year’s. However, Toronto will need the help from everyone, including star forward Mitch Marner, who hasn’t scored since Game 1 of the series, in which he has collected two goals. Since, the Bruins managed to keep the lid on Marner, he who has recorded just two assists in the last five contests,.

Leafs head coach Mike Babcock had some advice this morning for Marner, ahead of Game 7 tonight: tune out the noise, and get after it!

“When he was a kid he probably played road hockey and at this time of year, he was probably whoever scored the winning goal the night before. Be the same, just get out there and play.”

Marner can surely be inspired by teammate Auston Matthews, who has posted five goals and an assist over his last four games of the series.

If there is a time for Marner to get out of his slump: it’s right now! Game 7 starts soon…
