Babcock has surprising, underwhelming comments about Marner.
It leaves a wierd taste.

We write often about Toronto's amazing success this season despite fielding a rookie-driven lineup. One of these recruits performing well is assuredly Mitch Marner, who's 57 points season thus far carries the team toward greatness.
However, coach Mike Babcock had a sweet-and-sour comment about Marner following the Leafs' win facing the Devils.
It's both amazingly nice and terribly rough to say such things about a rising star in the team. On one side, of course Marner is exceeding expectations this year and the hopes are high for the future. On the other side, it shows how little consideration Babcock had for Mitch before he started producing on such a crazy pace.
Babcock is obviously in this game to boost the moral of his players, but this one could have been phrased differently.
