Babcock headed to the World Championship, but not as a coach.

Head coach Mike Babcock has just given fans in Toronto one more reason to love him.

While the season is over for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Mike Babcock will be continuing his diligent work for the organization this time heading to the IIHF's World Championship tournament, but not as a coach.

TSN insider Mark Masters is reporting that Babcock will be attending the event on behalf of the Toronto Maple Leafs and according to Masters will be there to "scout players Leafs have identified as being of interest."

Babcock also added that he felt the Leafs could use a few more horses on their roster.

"We got to get much deeper as an organization," said Babcock.

One has to wonder if the Leafs intend to do that with more international talent given Babcock's travel to the World Championship.
