There is still time to fight for a spot on the Toronto Maple Leafs’ roster, and forward Nic Petan is attempting to impress management and head coach Mike Babcock to earn a place in the lineup.

However, things might have taken a turn for the worse on Wednesday night when it was revealed on TSN 1050 that Petan reportedly got kicked off the ice by Babcock for not skating hard enough during a team’s bag skate.

It is believed that Babs also said: “Are you even supposed to be here?”

Petan, who was traded to Toronto from the Winnipeg Jets at the deadline, got into just five games with the Maple Leafs last season. He recorded a goal.

Babcock never seemed to be a fan of him, and this only supports this belief… Petan is up against Nick Shore, Kenny Agostino, Jeremy Bracco, Pierre Engval, Garrett Wilson (injured), Pontus Aberg, Adam Brooks and others to make the team.

Some fans believe Petan should be given a chance on the roster, but it’s hard to say he has managed to convince Babcock he deserves a spot…
