Babcock's update on Auston Matthews does not sound promising.

The Toronto Maple Leafs were without dcenter Auston Matthews on Wednesday night and now it sounds like there is at least a chance he will continue to miss time.

After the Maple Leafs 4-2 over the Minnesota Wild Leafs' head coach Mike Babcock addressed the assembled media and it didn't take long before the questions turned to the health of Toronto's superstar forward.

Unfortunately when asked when Matthews would return Babcock's response did not leave much room for optimism with him stating that he had no idea when the team's leading scorer would be back out on the ice.

Matthews' absence on Wednesday night was the first game he missed due to injury in his National Hockey League career, he was listed as "day-to-day" with an "upper-body injury" prior to tonight's game.
