Bad news for a Habs prospect

When we're talking about Montreal Canadiens prospect, we're instantly thinking about Nikita Scherbak, Ryan Poehling or Noah Juulsen.

But we must not forget 19-year-old forward Will Bitten, a 5-foot-10 centerman who still wishes to impress Marc Bergevin and his team while he's playing in the Ontario Hockey League.

That's going to be Bitten's only option now, as he hasn't been invited to Team Canada's final camp for the World Junior Championships, as TSN's Bob McKenzie reported, earlier today. Even though he was invited to last summer's camp, it wasn't enough for him to make the 32-man roster:

Bitten played 28 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs this season. He recorded seven goals and 21 assists for 28 points, as well as a +/- ratio of -3.
