After today’s announcement of San Jose Sharks’ Logan Couture replacing the injured Dallas Stars’ Jamie Benn was made, reassuring news for Stars fans was not too far away.

Benn, who underwent surgery to repair a core muscle injury, will not feature in next month’s World Cup of Hockey but will be ready to start the regular season, according to The Score.

Benn finished second in scoring last season in the NHL with 89 points in 82 games, with 17 points less than the Chicago Balckhawks’ Patrick Kane.

Stars general manager Jim Nill says Benn will be 100% recovered and ready.
