Despite a strong showing in their last 10 games, playoff hopes for the Vancouver Canucks are still ridiculously low. How low? Well, according to Micah Blake McCurdy, the Canucks would have 17% chance of getting into the playoff this year, as of right now.

Jim Benning won't admit it, but the Canucks are in "rebuild mode". The General Manager was live on TSN Radio yesterday. Asked if he'd try to add a few more picks for the upcoming draft, Benning said; " Yeah, that's the one thing we'd love to. If we can add more picks, we'd like to do that this year, i'm not trading any of the picks that we have. We're in a very good place, our defense is young and we got some player in that 22-27 year range [...] now, we need to be patient and work with the group that we have."

Asked if he's going to ask his players (the Sedins) to waive their no-trade clause, here's what Benning had to say "I'm not gonna ask because the players that we have left with no-trade contracts, they're the best players on our team, they're the leaders of our team. If a player comes to me and [ask for a trade] then i will try to work something out."
