The Montreal Canadiens are off to their worst start since World War 2. After a slew of moves that left fans and media wondering what Marc Bergevin was thinking - and what the results would be - we finally have an answer.

The Habs are worse than ever - and no one is really surprised.

Sportsnet requested to speak to the general manager, to get a sense of where his head is at through all this, but he denied it.

The Canadiens (1-6-1) need to turn things around right now if they have any aspirations of making the playoffs. They'll need to be a near-dominant team for the rest of the season to put up the points they need to reach the 95-point playoff benchmark.

Bergevin claimed the defensive lineup he assembled this year is better than last year's. Yet the Canadiens are a league worse -20.

The painful part is that Carey Price is playing so badly right now - that Bergevin will likely say once he finds his game, the team will be fine. Nothing could be more wrong.

He's running scared. He will continue to make excuses.

Is it time to fire him?
